For Between the Boards we revisit our favorite segment - NHL trivia. And Robert get's one right!

We close with a week preview (huge week Canes) and the last fact of the week of 2010.

Snow Delay

So you want honesty? Here is honesty.

Brooks' family got snowed in at his house and he can't come to my place to record. So we will record tomorrow afternoon.

Enjoy the snow!

Oh, and I hate NHL refs after this week.

2010 - 2011 Regular Season Week 11

What an amazing week! 3 wins in amazing fashion!

We talk about these amazing games - a 3 goal comeback win in Florida, a 2 goal 3rd period comeback win in Atlanta and killing off TWO 6 on 3's against Anaheim - to start the show.

For Between the Boards we unveil our 2nd unit of the Caniac Killer Team. Ollie Jokinen, Alexander Semin, Martin St. Louis, Brooks Orpik, Scott Stevens and Brent Johnson made up our starters, but who was their backups on this fantasy team of players who historically kill the Canes.

We close with a week preview and Brooks' random fact of the week.

It's a great show and like always, is free!

2010 - 2011 Regular Season Week 10

Three points in two on the road is not bad Caniacs!

The Canes win and lose in 2 - 1 shootouts this week on the road in Dallas and St. Louis. We really saw some great performances from Cam Ward who stole the show this week.

For Between the Boards we go over some NHL news from the week and then we have our week preview. Brooks' random fact of the week deals with Guy Hebert - and it's not what you might think.

This show is so free. Like totally.

2010 - 2011 Regular Season Week 9

Not the best week folks...

We recap a three game week with 2 losses surrounding one of the most entertaining games we have seen in a long time.

In Between the Boards we reveal our top line of our Caniac Killer Team - and rant about how much we hate these players.

We close out with a preview of a strange week and then Brooks' Random Fact of the Week.

It's a great show during a not so great week.

2010 - 2011 Regular Season Week 8

Good week Caniacs, good week.

The week started with some more roster moves that brought Ryan Carter to Carolina. With the new roster set, the Canes get three points including 2 in the best game the Canes have played this season and 1 in dramatic fashion.

We open up the email bag and then for Between the Boards pay tribute to the best player ever to put on the Red for Carolina, Ron Francis.

We close with a week preview, Brooks' random fact of the week and then a special delivery at the end of the show.

It's a great show. Mainly because it is free.

2010 - 2011 Regular Season Week 7

Holy news desk week!

The Canes add some new players via the wave wire and a trade. With the new lineup, the Canes get 4 (not 3 - you will get the reason we say this once the show starts) points this week going 1-0-2. We discuss all three games and the controversial goal call in Pittsburgh.

For Between the Boards we reveal our votes for the NHL All - Star game. Amazingly, Robert and Brooks pretty much agree with the 6 votes.

A week preview, Brooks' random fact and then our random banter close the show out.

Check it out for free, yo.

2010 - 2011 Regular Season Week 6

Holy goal scoring Batman!

What a crazy week with all three games seeing a team score 7 or more goals with the Canes coming up on the short end of those twice.

We open up our mailbag answering a question regarding our prediction for our top goal scorer and an inquiry about our farm team in Charlotte.

We do a long version of the Skinner watch and also look at his inclusion in EA Sports NHL 2011 and how he fares against other rookies and all players in the game.

Between the Boards we put on our GM hats and give our opinions on some suggested rule changes in the league.

A week preview closes out right before Brook's Random Fact of the Week.

This show is free. Nothing. Nada. Not a penny.

2010 - 2011 Regular Season Week 5

The Canes have scored in Raleigh!

We talk about a 4 game week where we question a coaching move, praise the offense, rip the defense and of course, rip Bryan Hoyle.

For Between the Boards we do some NHL trivia. Basically, it's an excuse for us to talk about crazy hockey stories and go over some amazing hockey stats.

We close with a week preview and then Brooks' Random Fact of the Week.

And a quick note, we had a recording error at the end, and while all the content from the show is in here, it does abruptly end. So it's not YOU being an idiot, it in fact is us.

Due to the error, we are not charging this week to listen.

2010 - 2011 Regular Season Week 4

It's amazing that Carolina ACTUALLY plays in Carolina...

We recap a three game week with two shutouts at home and a great win in New York. But this show has so much more than this stuff..

We have a Bryan Hoyle mispronunciation of the week and we look at all the changes this season at the arena including our questionable new arena game host.

Between the Boards is Fill in the Blank where we talk about the first 10 games and who has been good and who has been bad.

A great week preview before a new segment - Brooks' Random Fact of the Week.

If you take the number of goals the Canes have scored in Raleigh this year and multiple by it by a dollar, that will be the price of this show.

2010 - 2011 Regular Season Week 3

A good week Canes, a good week.

The Canes pick up four in the western time zones with wins in San Jose and one in Phoenix sandwiched around a loss in LA. We go in depth to into these and call both Tim Gleason and Justin Peters for "inexcusable" errors that cost the Canes the LA game.

For the Between the Boards it's headlines. We talk about news in the NHL and within the whole sport of hockey. And like usual, this brings some serious debate between Robert and Brooks.

We close with a week preview and then some silly banter. Like normal.

It's here. Not there. It's free. Not expensive.

2010 - 2011 Regular Season Week 2

2 - 0 in Finland, 0-2 in Canada

This week starts with a 3 - 2 loss in Ottawa that saw some good spark in the Canes despite the loss. We also discuss the hit on Pat Dwyer in this game.

We then discuss the lines for a good bit. We look at the realistic lines and the major changes this week and then it's mailbag time. We discuss, per an email request, our top 18 players if there were no contracts salaries or rules to worry about. We then discuss a 5 - 1 loss in Vancouver.

Between the Boards this week looks at the history of the Canes with their draft picks and some of the successes, and some of the failures.

We preview a game, which finally takes place in the States I might add before closing the show out.

It's here. It's free. And it's the same cost as the number of points the Canes earned this week.

2010 - 2011 Regular Season Week 1

We clearly should play all games in Finland....

The Canes took a European vacation that was nothing short of a success. We start in Russia with the final pre-season game against SKA St. Petersburg. After this game, we had a great question in our mailbag about team toughness and this caused the first of many monologues by Brooks.

The season then opens up with two wins against the Minnesota Wild that saw guys like Jokinen, Sutter, Skinner and most importantly, Cam Ward showcase their talents.

It's then time for some Between the Boards where we do some season predictions with over/under for some stats on the Canes roster.

The week closes with a week preview and then all important announcement of Robert and Brooks' fantasy hockey team names.

It's here and just like always, free. Like a bird. Skynyrd reference. Not Skinner. Skynyrd.

The 2010 - 2011 Season is upon us and it's time for us to go over everything about it!

We open with talking about all the changes on the rosters. Whitney, Brind'Amour, Pothier, Picard and more are now gone. Joe Corvo, Anton Babchuck come back and are joined by a native North Carolinian, Patrick O'Sullivan. The Canes also added a star from the OHL, Jeff Skinner with the seventh overall pick.

We then breakdown all the preseason games before we give a season prediction including a Stanley Cup prediction.

Season in Review Part 3

We've done this twice, why not thrice?

Our third and final part of our season in review show starts with the Olympic games where the Americans and Canadians battled for gold and all four Canes received medals.

We then get things going again in March where the Canes finished the mass exodus. Aaron Ward, Scott Walker, Joe Corvo, Stephane Yelle and Andrew Alberts all found new homes but curiously, Ray Whitney did not. Our spotlight game for March was a 4-0 loss to Phoenix, a game that served as a reality check to anyone with playoff dreams.

We wrap things up in April with a quick month. Our spotlight game came on the last home game of the season that saw the return of Casey Borer to the NHL from the Albany bus crash and Eric Staal sending the fans home without their free hats. We also look at all the stats from a horrific season.

It's here and just like always, is free. We are cool like that.

The dramatic continuation of the 2009 - 2010 Season in Review for the Carolina Hurricanes continues now...

For this episode, we pick things back up in December. December saw Cam Ward return from his injury, a trade for a guy named Juri Tlusty, some Canes named to Olympic rosters and two Hurricanes headed to Philly in Kevin McCarthy and Michael Leighton. The spotlight game for this month was Tim Gleason's first game against Alex Ovechkin since the nasty kneeing penalty where then get's 30 stitches and scores the goal of the year all in the same night.

For January, we look back at the story of the season with Eric Staal becoming the fifth Captain in our franchise. This month saw good play from the Canes as they went 9-5 as well. Our spotlight game is a win in Atlanta - Staal's first game with the C.

February was a short month but saw Nic Wallin and Matt Cullen sent out of town and the debut of a young goalie named Justin Peters. Our spotlight game is a win on Long Island as Peter's makes his NHL debut stopping 34 of New York's 35 shots on him.

And a special moment for this show - the Bryan Hoyle mispronunciation of the season.

2009 - 2010 Season in Review Part 1

Summer is over! It's time for hockey again and that also means it's time for the Storm Report Podcast again!

For our first show we roll out part 1 of our 3 part season in review show. This show looks back at training camp and all the roster moves the Canes did in a win now attitude. Our October spotlight game was a loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins which had the best hit of the year, best save of the year and gave the Canes hope amidst a 14 game losing streak.

We then roll into November which had three of the biggest stories for the entire season. The losing streak, the skate cut injuries to Cam Ward and Joe Corvo and one of if not the biggest story all season - our spotlight game for November - the Alex Ovechkin kneeing penalty on Tim Gleason in a loss to the Washington Capitals.

Part 1 is here and just like season, free for you to enjoy! We are happy you are back and we are happy to be back on the air!

For Between the Boards we answer the 10 big questions heading into the off-season including how the All Star game will affect hockey in Raleigh and what happens with the defense next year.

We finish the show with a playoff preview and picks in each round of the NHL playoffs.

The season of pain is almost over.....

In this week's episode reviews a 4 game week with a few great wins, a heartbreaking loss and a awful loss. Really the big news this week, as we discuss, was the return of Cam Ward and the play of Brandon Sutter. Cam Ward was unreal, especially in the Montreal win, and Brandon Sutter got his 20th goal this week.

For Between the Boards, we reveal our number 1 moment in franchise history which is without a doubt the Canes winning the Stanley Cup back in 2006

We close with a quick look at some hockey news before previewing the final week of the season.

Martin St. Louis is good. Case in point, this week.

We look back at a 1-1-1 week with three games all in the Southeast division. We saw one of the best goals we have seen all year, one of the best games we have seen all year and one of the worst efforts all season long.

And just as Brian Hoyle was having a perfect week.....he blew it in the bottom of the 9th, so to speak.

For Between the Boards we do some fill in the blank Hurricane style. For example, we complete "I wish ________ would just shut up."

Four games next week, we preview them all.

The amount of playoff games the Canes play this year will be the same as the cost for this show (0).

For Between the Boards we do some point counterpoint talking about the physicality with hockey reviewing some of the big hits and whether the NHL should do anything about them.

For Between the Boards we unveil our number two moment in franchise history, game 1 of the 2002 Stanley Cup Finals - a win against the Detroit Red Wings. We also play some very rare audio from the CBC telecast of this game.

We then close the show previewing another tough week with four games, three in Raleigh.

Well Robert made it back from Memphis in one piece and Brooks is happy because now 1/2 of the...well, 3/4 of the team is back and ready to talk hockey.

We start off the show talking about one of the better performances the Canes have seen this year both individually (Staal's 5 points) and as a team as the Canes dominated the Capitals. We then go over the very boring home and home with the Rangers to close out the week.

For Between the Boards Robert and Brooks debate various topics with some good ole fashioned Point Counterpoint such as if the Canes left out of the Olympics got screwed and whether the Edmonton Oilers deserved to pay their $16,000 plus tab at a Calgary restaurant or not.
