The final show for the final week..
The Canes fight for their playoff lives comes up one game short. We look back at the week that was all about fighting for 8th.
After the loss to Tampa, the season officially ended. With that in mind, we go through and reflect on the past season and discuss all the surprises - both good and bad.
For Between the Boards, we both pick our playoff winners and believe it or not, we both have the same Stanley Cup Finals matchup.
Brooks finishes with 4 facts of the week to hold you over for the summer and then we say goodbye for the last time this season.

2010 Regular Season Week 23
4 points but still not ground made up..
Canes look good in all 3 games but only manage to win 2 games. We look back at the week that was recapping each game and even do some in depth analysis on Joni Pitkanen in the process.
For Between the Boards we each come up with some random hockey comments. And when I mean random, I mean we talk the greatest video game hockey player ever, compare the NHL to the NCAA and even discuss the current points system.
We close with a preview of a season defining week and a fact of the week regarding one record that Patrick Roy has you probably don't know about...

Wow what a bad week...
The Canes only get 1 point this week and have a game where the Canes go 0-9 on the power play. We see some interesting stuff this week including a questionable ending in a game, a call up, and a big injury.

2010 Regular Season Week 21
So we win twice but now are outside of the top 8? Huh?!?
The NHL Trade deadline comes and goes and the Canes were apart of it. See ya Sergei, hello Bryan Allen. With the new roster, the Canes get 4 points this week including the big 2 against Buffalo but fall out of the top 8 for the first time in weeks.
For Between the Boards we revisit a season goal list from the beginning of the season. We basically "check up" on this list to see where the Canes are and basically reflect on where we are based on where we needed to be.
We close with a week preview, a fact of the week and then some ACC tournament banter!

2010 Regular Season Week 20
3 points in 3 games. Not good. Not bad.
It was a so so week as the Canes dominate the Pens but have some goals scored late on them against the Rangers and Canadians that cost the Canes a potentiality huge week.
This week's biggest story involved the return of Cory Stillman to Raleigh in a trade with the Florida Panthers.
We open up the mail bag for some great questions dealing with the trade deadline and then Between the Boards is all about the NHL trades as we break down each trade thus far and give our comments on each.
We close with a preview of a big week and then another random fact of the week dealing with 50 in 50.

2010 Regular Season Week 19
Legendary week....at least off the ice.
The Canes lift 17 to the rafters this week but only get 2 points. Thanks to pretty much everyone in the middle part of the Eastern Conference, including Carolina, in a huge slump, the Canes are still in the top 8.
This week also featured a trade to San Jose of Ian White.
For Between the Boards we honor the man of the week, Rod Brind'Amour looking over his entire career both in Raleigh and elsewhere.
We close with a preview and amazing fact of the week.
The cost to download this show is the same as the chances as someone of ever wearing number 17 in Raleigh again.

2010 Regular Season Week 18
The NHL has gone bananas....
The Canes spend the entire week on the road and have some crazy finishes. In three of the four games, goals scored in the final 90 seconds drastically impact the game. Ignoring the fact these games were on the road, the Canes played probably their toughest opponents during one week and came out pretty well.
Hands down the story in hockey this week was the two unreal games we saw with Boston / Montreal and Pittsburgh / Islanders. For the first time ever, due to these games being so memorable, we on the Storm Report Podcast talk about games having nothing to do with the Canes as we were fortunate enough to see both these games in entirety.
Between the Boards features some end of season predictions with oddsmakers dealing with both the Canes and the NHL as a whole.
We close with a preview of a week with opponents we saw this week and then close with a crazy fact dealing with the Islanders goalies this year.

Bad week with great results.
The Canes get beat up by Tim Thomas and then lay an egg against the Leafs. Luckily for them Atlanta also dropped both games so that set up the most important game of the year and it turned out to be a great show.
For Between the Boards we pay tribute to arguably the best d-man to ever wear Canes red - number 2, Glen Wesley

All Star Show!!
This is the BEST SHOW EVER!!
It's easy to forget the Canes actually had a few games this week - both wins - and there was even a nasty fight in there. We talk all about this.
Then it's all about the All Star Game. The draft, the skills, the game, opinions on the format and all that. Then it gets good.
Between the two of us, we were able to meet roughly 30 people, including players, involved with the NHL. We get into first hand accounts of players drunk and walking around Raleigh with no pants on, players with prostitutes, players criticizing the city they play in, players hitting on married women and let's not forget the all important trips to clubs late at night. Man do we have some stories....
Check out some awesome insider info before we do the standard preview and fact of the week. But it wasn't very standard actually...
We have done roughly 50 shows in our time, and this might be the best. Listen the entire way through - it's long but well worth it.

Recording Monday!
Brooks is driving around players tonight so we will record Monday Night. 2010 Regular Season Week 14
What a week! 6 points in 4 games is good good good.
With Brooks in Colorado, we do our technological show via the cell phone. We review each of the 4 games and we are in a happy mood.
After a quick All Star Note, we do one of the best Between the Boards segments of the year - mid-season report cards. That's right friends, we have played half of our games already and we have enough to give each player a grade.
The week preview looks a return of a former cane, an old rival and a huge division match up. A quick fact of the week before we close.
It's a great show. Lots of Canes banter and honest opinions. Very free as well.

We talk about all 3 wins and the spectacular play of all 4 lines for maybe the first time all season in terms of consistency for an entire week. The Canes pick up 6 points and more importantly do so in regulation denying their Eastern Foes no points.
For Between the Boards we go over our New Year's Resolutions - Canes style of course.
We close with a great week preview, a touching fact of the week and our typical non hockey related banter.
