Season in Review Part 3

We've done this twice, why not thrice?

Our third and final part of our season in review show starts with the Olympic games where the Americans and Canadians battled for gold and all four Canes received medals.

We then get things going again in March where the Canes finished the mass exodus. Aaron Ward, Scott Walker, Joe Corvo, Stephane Yelle and Andrew Alberts all found new homes but curiously, Ray Whitney did not. Our spotlight game for March was a 4-0 loss to Phoenix, a game that served as a reality check to anyone with playoff dreams.

We wrap things up in April with a quick month. Our spotlight game came on the last home game of the season that saw the return of Casey Borer to the NHL from the Albany bus crash and Eric Staal sending the fans home without their free hats. We also look at all the stats from a horrific season.

It's here and just like always, is free. We are cool like that.

The dramatic continuation of the 2009 - 2010 Season in Review for the Carolina Hurricanes continues now...

For this episode, we pick things back up in December. December saw Cam Ward return from his injury, a trade for a guy named Juri Tlusty, some Canes named to Olympic rosters and two Hurricanes headed to Philly in Kevin McCarthy and Michael Leighton. The spotlight game for this month was Tim Gleason's first game against Alex Ovechkin since the nasty kneeing penalty where then get's 30 stitches and scores the goal of the year all in the same night.

For January, we look back at the story of the season with Eric Staal becoming the fifth Captain in our franchise. This month saw good play from the Canes as they went 9-5 as well. Our spotlight game is a win in Atlanta - Staal's first game with the C.

February was a short month but saw Nic Wallin and Matt Cullen sent out of town and the debut of a young goalie named Justin Peters. Our spotlight game is a win on Long Island as Peter's makes his NHL debut stopping 34 of New York's 35 shots on him.

And a special moment for this show - the Bryan Hoyle mispronunciation of the season.
